Typical picture quality of VCDs?

I stuck a movie in VCD format into my computer and it's extremely fuzzy at high resolutions, and is only crisp when the window is squeezed pretty small, around what i estimate to be about 400x320...

VCDs have a resolution of around 350 x 240. Never tried one myself, but yes they're going to look better on a low-res interlaced TV set than a sharp, hi-res, progressive scan monitor.
